Nick is a British mining engineer and mine surveyor with 12 years’ technical operations experience in the industry. He has worked in various commodities on projects with major mining houses including Barrick Gold, where he was part of the team that developed the greenfield Jabal Sayid Mine in Saudi Arabia; Newcrest, where he worked as surveyor on Cadia East Panel Cave development; and BHP where he joined the team building a second tailings storage facility at Cannington. Nick represents Inmarsat on the Global Mining Guidelines leadership board and is also a leadership group member of the METS Ignited-Tailings Teq initiative in Australia. Nick heads Inmarsat’s mining innovation team and aims to develop and deliver bespoke IOT/connectivity solutions specifically for the mining industry. He is based in Brisbane, Australia.
