Terra Safe

Geotechnical monitoring for mining and oil and gas: slopes, dams, tailings facilities and buried pipelines, on one validated data platform.

THE PROBLEM

Ground moves slowly, then quickly. A pit slope, a tailings facility, a dam or a pipeline corridor is watched by piezometers, prisms, inclinometers, strain gauges, radar, satellite and survey crews, and each reports to a different system on a different schedule. The engineer gets a monthly pack; the operator gets a threshold alarm that fires on one bad reading and is ignored by the third time. In between, a rise in pore pressure or a change in the rate of movement goes unread until it reaches a trigger level. Then deposition stops, the pit is cleared, the line is shut in, and production waits for someone to prove the ground is safe.

WHAT TERRA SAFE DOES

Terra Safe™ runs on the Insight Platform and takes readings from any geotechnical instrument, logger or satellite feed, checks each one against its history and its neighbours, tags it with source, timestamp and asset, and writes it to a permanent record. Rules attached to each metric watch trend and rate, not just level, so accelerating movement, a pressure rise or ground strain along a buried pipeline raises an alert while there is still time to act, and a failing sensor is flagged before its readings reach a stability model. The engineer of record, the site team and the risk model work from the same validated data.

WHY IT WORKS

Terra Safe is in service on tailings facilities, mine slopes and pipeline corridors in both sectors. It is built on our own microservices architecture, connects to the instruments and systems you already run, on site or in the cloud, and is available through AWS Marketplace or deployed directly. Every reading is encrypted in transit and at rest and written to a permanent log. Trigger action response plans depend on readings the whole team trusts. That is what Terra Safe supplies, so the decision to keep depositing, restrict access, step down a slope or keep a line flowing rests on evidence rather than on the last monthly pack.
