Insight Terra today announced it has joined the Inmarsat ELEVATE Programme, an ecosystem of providers of software, hardware and solutions, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in commercial land markets. As an ELEVATE member, Insight Terra will gain access to Inmarsat’s global L-band satellite connectivity network, ELERA, and worldwide reach to support its ambitious growth strategy to provide real-time remote monitoring and management of environmental and infrastructure risks in the global mining, geohazards and water resources sectors.
Insight Terra, a provider of advanced edge and cloud-based data management, analytics and visualisation solutions for the mining, geohazard and water resources sectors, launched in August 2021 and is backed by Inmarsat and global growth equity firm Atlantic Bridge.
In the mining sector, Insight Terra provides a fully integrated end-to-end data aggregation, management, analytics and visualisation solution to monitor the safety and stability of on-site mine tailings storage facilities and deliver actionable insight to mine operators and owners. It can also monitor other environmental and infrastructure risks in mining, including water management and pit wall stability. Outside of the mining sector, its geohazard monitoring and risk management use cases include freshwater reservoirs, hydroelectric dams, landslide monitoring and other critical infrastructure monitoring.
Commenting on Insight Terra’s membership in the ELEVATE Programme, Mike Carter, President, Enterprise at Inmarsat said: “Inmarsat is pleased to welcome Insight Terra to our ELEVATE programme. Insight Terra is an Inmarsat success story and an excellent example of how we as a company foster innovation. The combination of Inmarsat’s global ELERA narrowband network with ground-breaking ELEVATE programme partners such as Insight Terra helps companies use IoT to boost safety, improve operational efficiency, tackle pressing challenges, and create new opportunities.”
Alastair Bovim, Insight Terra CEO and co-founder, comments: “Insight Terra’s pioneering use of the Insight Platform to monitor tailings dams makes sites safer and helps mining operators meet their essential environmental, social and governance responsibilities as required by national governments, industry regulators and investors.
“Inmarsat was instrumental in the development of the Insight Terra Insight Platform and our launch as an independent company. We’re delighted to join the Inmarsat ELEVATE programme and see it as an important platform for driving growth and expanding our global reach in mining and adjacent sectors in the future.”
